BHEJA FRY was one of those small films that made it big. No one would have expected it to be such a rage. Now, after four years, director Sagar Ballary returns with its sequel, BHEJA FRY 2 with some new faces. Obviously, the expectations are sky high.
Vinay Pathak is back as the irritating simpleton, Bharat Bhushan. Winning a TV show called "Aao Guess Karein" lands the tax inspector on an opulent cruise. It's on this cruise that he's acquainted with Ajit Talwar, a sly businessman who's trying to evade the Income Tax department.
When Ajit learns from his reliable sources that an Income Tax officer is on board to get him, he suspects its Bharat Bhushan and plans to get rid of him. Actually, he mistakes him for tax inspector and Bhushan's colleague M.T. Shekharan, who's on a mission to bring him to Justice.
After an unexpected turn of events, Ajit finds himself on a secluded island with Bharat, who's at his usual annoying best. He takes "Situational Songs" to a new level, having a song for every occasion. Their island adventures form the rest of the story.
Director Sagar Ballary has got it all wrong here. It seems the film was made just to cash in on the success of BHEJA FRY, without using any "Bheja". Apart from M.T. Shekharan and Bharat Bhushan mocking each other, all the gags fall flat on their face.
The flow of the film is depressingly slow as you wait for something exciting to happen, only to be disappointed.
Vinay Pathak acts decently but is too loud to digest this time. Kay Kay Menon delivers a fine and restrained performance. However, the chemistry between Vinay and Kay Kay is missing. Suresh Menon is hilarious.
Minissha Lamba acts well. Amole Gupte goes over-the-top. All the other Actors are fine in their respective roles.
BHEJA FRY 2 makes your bheja ache. Not Funny !!!
