Director : Tigmanshu Dhulia
Music : Abhishek Ray
Starring : Nana Pateker, Mohit Ahlawat, Rimi Sen, Zakir Husain and Anurag Kashyap
It seems cop films are in vogue in Bollywood. If it was DABANGG last year, this year it's DUM MAARO DUM and now SHAGIRD. The film is a comeback of Tigmanshu Dhulia, whose last film, CHARAS released way back in 2004.

However, he has a tough time mentoring young officer Mohit, who's the latest addition in his team. Hanumant and local gangster Bunty Bhaiya are chamchas of fraudulent politician Rajmani Singh (Zakir Hussain), who can do anything for power.
The plot involves the dirty games played by these characters to satisfy their greedy souls. Just like Hanumant Singh's character, the film tries too hard to be "Cool".

On the other hand, there are some witty and comic Dialogues which provide the intermittent relief. When Mohit says that he loves Cricket, Hanumat retorts, "Cricket to alu hai, sabhi khate hain". The encounter sequences in the first half are nicely done.
